The Bachelor Nation tea is too hot. Turns out, Peter Weber came dangerously close to turning down his second chance at love!

The dreamy pilot, 28, told Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin during a Tuesday, January 7 episode of their podcast, Bachelor Happy Hour, that he almost declined to go on the beloved reality series to get back together with ex Hannah Brown“I was prepared at AFR to give it a shot … when I knew there was a chance for The Bachelor and I was going to say no to the show,” Peter explained.

“We had a brief saying goodbye to each other off-camera. [Hannah] said that she actually moved out close to where I was living. I said, ‘No way! Let’s meet up,’ we had agreed. I honestly got excited at that point and was like, ‘You know what? Maybe this isn’t over,'” he continued.

Unfortunately, as we all know, things didn’t pan out that way for the once-adorable pair. “I had felt some chemistry with her onstage, to be completely honest, and I remember my family and I, we flew out to New York that night. That next night, I remember watching the second episode of AFR of her and Tyler [Cameron] and she asked Tyler out and I was like, ‘What the hell?’” Peter concluded. “Right there, I was just done … over it, moving on. It hurt. I was not expecting that”

Peter’s retelling of the events definitely mirrors Chris Harrison’s comments about how things ended between him and Hannah. “I think it’s something that needed to be dealt with, the relationship. I think it’s a relationship that didn’t have a clean, clear break,” the longtime host told E! News ahead of the season 24 premiere.

“I think there were and maybe are feelings there, and some underlying feelings that maybe they thought they had both dealt with,” Chris added. “I knew once they saw each other, they probably hadn’t really dealt with them all, so I think it’s a hurdle that we needed to clear before we moved forward.”

When you’re right, you’re right, Chris! Hopefully, after Peter and Hannah’s emotional reunion during the January 6 episode, both of them can move on once and for all.
