Will There Be a ‘Pluribus’ Season 2? Here’s Everything We Know, Release Date & More!
Vince Gilligan has done it again. The mastermind behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul dropped Pluribus in November 2025, and fans are already hooked. This post-apocalyptic sci-fi series has critics raving and viewers glued to their screens, and even before season 1 wraps, everyone is asking: will there be a season 2?
Has Season 2 Been Confirmed?
Good news: yes! Season 2 was ordered shortly after the premiere in November 2025, and Gilligan has hinted he’s thinking long-term.
“At this moment, I have more of an idea of how the show should end than I usually do. Certainly [more] than I did on Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul,” he told Screen Rant. “Having said that, I will always quickly get rid of a good idea for a better idea. If one comes along, I’ll happily discard what I’m thinking of right now. [But] we have a general roadmap of where the show should go.”
What Is ‘Pluribus’ About?
Pluribus centers on Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn), a local fantasy romance author and one of only a dozen people worldwide immune to an alien virus. While the virus sweeps through humanity, infecting everyone with a hyper-optimistic hive mind, Carol remains the lone non-infected resident in Albuquerque, New Mexico — giving Gilligan fans a familiar backdrop to new chaos. Season 1 follows Carol navigating a world where everyone else is eerily content, and, spoiler alert: things get wild.
So how long will this ride last? While Apple has officially only ordered season 2 so far, Gilligan isn’t limiting his vision. On the red carpet in late 2025, he said he’d “love to see Pluribus go as long as Rhea Seehorn wants it to go,” adding, “At this point, maybe four seasons, I’m guessing, but who the hell knows?”
When Will Season 2 Be Released?
As for when we’ll see the new episodes, Apple hasn’t set a release date yet, and filming for season 2 hasn’t started. But with nine episodes in season 1 — including titles like “We Is Us,” “Pirate Lady,” and “Got Milk” — fans are staying busy theorizing and binge-watching until the next chapter drops.
