Priyanka Chopra ‘Judged a Book by Its Cover’ With Nick Jonas, But Was Pleasantly ‘Surprised’
Name a cuter duo … we’ll wait. Priyanka Chopra couldn’t help but gush about all of Nick Jonas‘ amazing qualities during a recent event. She admitted that before getting to know him, she didn’t see their relationship going the distance but was pleasantly surprised by the singer.
“I didn’t think that this would be what it turned out to be, and that’s maybe that’s my fault. I judged a book by its cover,” the 36-year-old explained to Tina Brown at the 10th annual Women in the World Summit in New York City on Thursday, April 11. However, once the duo started up, she never looked back. The actress continued, “But I think when I actually started dating Nick, he surprised me so much.”
Although the couple has a 10-year age gap, the Quantico star confessed that she calls her 26-year-old hubby “Old Man Jonas.” She said while giggling, “That’s my name for him, ‘OMJ.’ … He’s such an old soul, extremely smart, so good for me because he grounds me so much. I’m a wild child. I do whatever I want whenever I want, and he always supports me.”
The JoBro seems so proud of his wife and always keeps her career a priority. Later during the event, the India native shared a story from one of her first dates with the pop star. They were hanging out with a group of friends before she had a meeting to run off to and the actress ~hinted~ that she would cancel the appointment if someone gave her a reason to stay.
Nick wasn’t born yesterday and made it clear that he will always be rooting for her. She recounted, “He’s like, ‘Look, I’m not stupid. I know what you’re trying to do. But I will never be the one who will tell you to cancel work because I know how hard you’ve worked to be where you are. So if you could’ve canceled it, you would’ve done it. I’ll take our friends out for dinner, we’ll wait for you, and you finish your meeting and come back.'”
The Isn’t It Romantic star was floored by the gesture. She divulged, “And I was just like, ‘That was the first time someone’s ever done that.’ … He gave me credit for what I had done. It was just mind-blowing for me.”
