Romeo and Cruz Beckham Fuel Brooklyn Beckham Feud Rumors With Comments Mocking Nicola Peltz
Rumors of a feud brewing between Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, versus the rest of his family recently began swirling, but it turns out, there were hints that trouble was bubbling underneath the surface for weeks.
In April, Brooklyn’s brothers, Romeo Beckham and Cruz Beckham, seemingly mocked Nicola, 30, with a couple of comments on social media. Nicola had previously left a comment on a picture Romeo’s ex-girlfriend, Mia Regan, posted on Instagram.
“So beautiful Mia,” Nicola wrote in the comments section on April 5 and added a pink heart and a sparkle emoji at the end of the message.
Two days later, Cruz, 20, commented on a slideshow that Romeo, 22, had shared via Instagram and said, “So beautiful Romeo,” with the same emojis. Cruz then replied with two laughing emojis.
Fans slammed the comment and one person wrote, “They’re both so childish. Good on Mimi for walking away. And Nicola for keeping her distance.”
The same Instagram user blasted the brothers again in a separate comment.
“Darling, go ask your dear girlfriend for a bottle,” the person added. “You tried to be funny by mimicking your sister-in-law’s comment on your ex-sister-in-law’s photo, but guess what? It wasn’t funny.”
Another critic chimed in and said, “I like y’all guys, and all your fam, but I think you should have more respect for Nicola, everyone understood the reference, and it’s pretty weird to see Romeo with Brooklyn’s ex or hookup or whatever that girl was. Mia was an important person in his life even tho you wanna deny [it] now. And has much more personality, and Cruz, you should look for a girl of your age, not a 30 years old woman that could be your aunt.”
Whispers that Brooklyn, 26, and Romeo weren’t on speaking terms began after Brooklyn and Nicola were notably absent from his father David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in Miami on March 30. Furthermore, TMZ reported that the pair flew to London and asked David if they could celebrate with him privately before his second birthday bash, but they were shut down. Instead, they were told if they wanted to hang out with David, they needed to attend the festivities along with the rest of the family.
Romeo later posted a picture from David’s party that included his mom, Victoria Beckham, David, Cruz, sister Harper, his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, and Cruz’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel.
“Family is everything,” he captioned the snap, and he noticeably didn’t tag Brooklyn or Nicola.
The root of their fight reportedly revolves around Romeo’s relationship with Brooklyn’s ex Kim, 24. However, their feud has nothing to do with jealousy and instead was ignited with Brooklyn questioning Kim’s motives about dating another Beckham brother. While the argument was allegedly just between Brooklyn and Romeo at first, TMZ reported on Wednesday, May 7, that the animosity was seeping into other relationships in the family.
“Nicola doesn’t appreciate the way ‘narcissistic’ David and Victoria treat her hubby, and she’s the first romantic partner of his to put her foot down, which they don’t like,” a source told the outlet.
