Coparenting goals! Scott Disick recently revealed why he’s so keen on getting along with baby mama/ex Kourtney Kardashian, and it turns out it’s all because of their kids.

“The truth is, my problems shouldn’t affect the kids,” the Talentless founder, 36, told Us Weekly on Monday, June 24. “Just because their mother and I couldn’t make it as a perfect, romantic couple shouldn’t have anything to do with the kids. They don’t deserve our mistakes, so we figured out a way. We still need to be as honest and as good to each other as if we were together. Let’s raise these children together and that’s it.”

Scott and the 40-year-old broke up in 2015 after having three kids — Mason, 9, Penelope, 6, and Reign, 4. Since then, Scott continues being close to Kourt and the rest of her family. “We live a few miles apart and it’s simple,” he told the outlet about his ex.

The former couple seem to be in a great place. Recently, they visited Costa Rica with their children. Scott’s current girlfriend, Sofia Richie, wasn’t in attendance but fortunately, she doesn’t seem to mind Scott and Kourt’s unique dynamic. “I mean, Sofia knew going into this that I was extremely close with Kourtney,” Scott explained to Khloé Kardashian in an April episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “She was like, ‘Listen, I will never get between you and your family and your children. Just speak to me and make me comfortable.'”

“I thought for a very long time that I was going to live a very miserable life,” he added. “I didn’t think that I was going to have happiness again. My biggest thing to Kourtney was no matter who we’re with, even though our children might not see everything, they do feel it and they can hear it and everyone needs to be OK with each other.” He’s got a point. Thankfully, Kourt and Scott are pros in that department!
