From Tween to Fashion Queen: See Sofia Richie’s Transformation Over the Years!

For a long time, a lot of people recognized Sofia because of her high-profile relationship with now-ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. As it happens, though, Sofia has been in the spotlight for years. Not only is her dad a world-famous singer, but her sister, Nicole Richie, is also a designer, model and actress.

While Sofia’s current passions are modeling, acting and fashion, when she was younger, she wanted to follow in her dad’s footsteps and become a singer. How sweet! It wasn’t until she landed a feature in Teen Vogue at the age of 14 that she decided to make the switch.

Ever since Teen Vogue, Sofia has gone on to appear in several campaigns — including Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger.  

That said, Sofia’s fashion tastes haven’t always been as, er, sophisticated as they are now. 

Here’s another prime example of Sofia’s style evolution. 

… And just like that! Little Sofia grew up overnight. By 2014, she went from looking like she worked at Zumiez to wearing Chanel pantsuits.

Even though Sofia was only 16 years old in 2015, she was quickly becoming somewhat of a red carpet icon. Much like her older sister, the word “socialite” was often used to describe her.  Of course, as we now know, she’s so much more than that.

Just one year ahead of settling down with Scott, Sofia attend Rihanna’s Fenty Puma event at New York Fashion Week. Clearly, she never needed the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star to attend A-list events.

Speaking of A-list events, we bet you totally forgot that Sofia dazzled the red carpet of the 2017 Met Gala. The theme was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between” and she totally nailed it!

Can you believe Sofia went from wearing neon beanies to strutting her stuff down the Dolce & Gabbana runway? 

As of 2018, Sofia became a household name. Her modeling career was at an all time high and her relationship with Scott followed in suit. 

At the time, a source told Us Weekly marriage was “a real possibility” for the pair. 

Scott and Sofia have “talked seriously about getting engaged,” the insider explained. 

“As it is now, Sofia and Scott look at each other as life partners,” a second source detailed, adding that they  “are in a great place and stronger than ever.”

Despite their significant age difference, Scott and Sofia made their relationship work for nearly three years.

“They actually laugh over people saying that they have nothing in common or she’s too immature for him, because she’s the one who takes care of him!” a source previously told Life & Style.  “Let’s not forget that before they started dating Scott was partying a lot — and you don’t see that side of him anymore.”

“He’s never out getting too out of control and that’s because Sofia has created a stable life for him,” the source continued. “She loves to plan outdoor adventures for the two of them, like an early evening hike or order in sushi or go to low-key date nights and watch movies.”

“Sofia will make sure that his house is stocked with things like toilet paper or paper towels and toothpaste. She doesn’t look at it as a job, she loves taking care of him,” noted the insider.

“In the beginning, I think she felt pressure because [Kourtney Kardashian] always has everything in order — has schedules planned weeks and days in advance — but now they’ve gotten into their own routine and she’s a very calming influence for Scott,” the source concluded.

It’s a shame Scott and Sofia couldn’t go the distance. Either way, she’s still a style queen! Keep slaying, girl.

In January 2024, Sofia announced that she was expecting her first child. She looked glamorous while showing off her baby bump at the Grammy Awards the following month.

During a November 2024 interview on the “Therapuss” podcast, Sofia revealed that she gained more than 60 pounds during her pregnancy and “did not leave the house” in the weeks before giving birth. “It was beautiful,” she confirmed. “This is the thing – I always tell my friends, I’m like, ‘Oh, it got crazy.’ But I was always empowered. The entire way. I was like, ‘I am unbelievable that I can do this.’”

Sofia gave birth to baby Eloise in May 2024 and returned to the red carpet less than six months later. “My life makes sense now,” she said. “I’ve never loved anything more in my life. I’m obsessed with her. She’s perfect. And I’ve lost 50 pounds.”
