The Hills are alive… with the sound of groaning. Heidi and Spencer Pratt weren’t exactly thrilled when former star of The OC Mischa Barton announced she was joining The Hills: New BeginningsReality TV’s most hated couple “is terrified that she’ll steal the spotlight,” an insider revealed to Life & Style magazine.

In fact, the infamously mischievous pair “have already begun plotting ways to get Mischa kicked off.” Which, to be fair, is exactly how producers hoped Heidi and Spencer would react to the 32-year-old’s casting. “Mischa was hired to stir up drama,” the source snickered, “and keep viewers glued to their screens.”

For those of you who weren’t aware that MTV was bringing back everyone’s favorite reality classic, no worries! We’ve got you covered with the deets. At this time, no exact date for the premiere has been announced. However, The Hills: New Beginnings is slated to debut in 2019.

According to E! News, the series “will reunite original cast members and exciting new faces as they navigate their personal and professional lives in LA.” Speaking of the cast, in addition to Mischa, Heidi, and Spencer, fans can also expect to see Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, and Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Pratt.

Ummm, that sounds like an amazing cast, if you ask us. Though, we are disappointed to hear that Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, and Lo Bosworth won’t be rejoining the ranks. Then again, should we really be surprised? After all, Lo did make her stance on a reboot pretty clear earlier this year.

“I don’t want any association with any of those people,” she confessed on her Lady Lovin’ podcast. “The dissociation from all those people is what I’m hungry for… they were all just my f–king coworkers. It was a job. A j-o-b.” Boom! Roasted.

Either way, we cannot wait for The Hills to come back so we can release our inhibitions and feel the rain on our skin! Do you get it? You know, because of the theme song? Er, nevermind, stay tuned for more updates on the premiere.
