The Mermaid Frappuccino Is Every Starbucks Barista’s Worst Nightmare!
Just days after the "mythical" unicorn drink took over social media, the Starbucks Mermaid Frappuccino is here!
Guaranteed to upset every single barista, the purple and green drink is making headlines for its equally Instagram-friendly appearance.

Created by Starbucks employee and blogger Jócelyn Freeman, aka The Modern Barista, the coffe-less drink will require a bit of memorization before you order.
"Ask for a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, add 3 scoops of blackberry inclusions for a Grande size. You can also tell the register barista you’re ordering the Pokémon Go Frappuccino, no raspberry syrup," details the Starbucks Melody, a website on all things coffee. "The drizzle is 8 pumps white mocha, 3 cbs pumps toasted coconut, and 3 scoops matcha."
While it's definitely not your standard Starbucks drink and will definitely get stares by those in the morning rush, Jócelyn defends her creation on Instagram.

"When I created this drink, I wanted to create a drink where there was already a button in play and a standard build. It is a Pokémon Go frappuccino minus raspberry. It is not a difficult drink to make," she wrote. "We have a huge responsibility to deliver the #Starbucks experience to all of these new customers! Instead of wishing it would stop (because it's not) embrace it! Have fun!"
As expected, Starbucks lovers are already going crazy about the concoction.

However, baristas are also raving about the over-the-top drinks on social media — but not in a good way.

"I hate my life. Someone asked for a dragon fruit frappuccino today and when I said I didn't know how to make it, the lady said I was lying," one employee commented under the recipe before another added, "If this is real I quit."
Unfortunately for them, we don't see this trend ending anytime soon and unlike the unicorn frappuccino, this specialty drink has no expiration date.
