Cute couple alert! We all need to be paying more attention to Stephen and Ayesha Curry. These longtime sweethearts have been killing the game for years, have adorable kids, and can’t stop gushing about each other. The cookbook author reminded people just how far the two have come when she posted their 10-year challenge photo on Instagram.
The mom-of-three told fans in the comments that the first picture is from when the pair was just 20 and 19 years old. They first met at a church youth group in their hometown of Charlotte, NC while in high school. “We were just kids,” Ayesha, 29, told People magazine in 2017 about her hubby, 30. “He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn’t for me.”
Ayesha was very serious about swearing off sporty guys. “My parents found this paper from my high school theater class where you had to write down what you wanted in a significant other…At the bottom, it said, ‘No athletes, because they’re arrogant,'” the designer admitted.
Luckily, that rule didn’t stick because a few years later, while Ayesha was modeling and acting in Los Angeles, she reconnected with Steph. At the time, he was a rising star on Davidson’s basketball team and asked his hometown hottie to go to the ESPY’s with him. Although she “didn’t know what the ESPY’s were,” she agreed to the friendly meet-up.
“She really didn’t know what I did at the time…It was pretty refreshing,” the NBA stud recalled. After turning him down once, the dark-haired beauty agreed to go out with him. It’s a good thing she did because the pair were married three years later in 2011 and have three children together — Riley, 6, and Ryan, 3, and 6-month-old Canon.
