This is a fierce friendship, y’all. It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have a connection for the ages — but recently, the girls opened up about just how important their bond is to one another.

“I knew from when I met her I would always have her back,” the blonde beauty, 30, told the Wall Street Journal in a new interview with Selena, 27. “In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don’t know if I can forgive someone who hurts her.”

Naturally, the brunette babe feels similarly about her pop star BFF. “We clicked instantly and, man, that was my girl,” the Rare artist told the outlet. “We both went through s—t at the same time. She taught me a lot about how I should be treated at a young age.”

In fact, Selena revealed that she keeps the inner workings of her friendship with the superstar close to the chest because of how much she treasures it. “There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do,” she explained. “She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family.”

“It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world,” Selena continued. “We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.”

Considering the actress felt comfortable enough to come to Tay for support after her stint in rehab back in January 2019, it makes sense that they would have an unbreakable bond by now. “Selena’s been leaning on Taylor for support during this rocky period,” an insider told Life & Style exclusively at the time. “Taylor calls or texts her pal most days to see how she’s getting on, regardless of how busy she is. They’ve been through so much together and nothing will ever get in the way of their friendship.”
