Being on Temptation Island sounds like a fun, if complicated time. But what happens when you’re one of the singles who has to stay behind in the villa while the couples heads out on dates? Well, every now and then, you get up to a little mischief. In the Tuesday, January 29 episode, one of the gorgeous ladies, Jeffri Lauren, does just that. She and some of the other ladies decide to pull a prank on Javen Butler — and when he discovers what they’ve done, he goes into “straight detective mode” to get to the bottom of it all. Watch the video above to see an exclusive clip from the new episode, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

See what we mean about “straight detective mode”? But those aren’t our words — they’re Jeffri’s. We chatted with the 31-year-old from Scottsdale, Arizona about what went on in the house, and she gave us plenty of dirt. Apparently, as relaxing as it can be to hang out in a villa in Hawaii, everyone did get a little stir crazy — and so she found some ways to lighten things up. “It was actually my intention to prank all of the guys,” she admitted. Javen was just first up.

“[He] had the most turtle-like behavior,” she shared. “He would pop out of his shell for two seconds and then go right back in. I wanted to get Javen out of his shell for good — and I think it worked.” But even she was a little surprised by how her secret admirer note played out. “He went into straight detective mode analyzing all of our lip prints and it was so funny! He has the least experience with women outside of Shari, so I thoroughly expected him to be awkward about it. He was hilarious! I saw a humorous side to Javen that really broke the ice.”

Speaking of Shari, well, let’s just say that Jeffri isn’t exactly rooting for the 25-year-old and her man to work things out. And it’s not just because that would mean one less guy for the Arizona native to get to know. When describing Javen and Shari’s relationship, Jeffri said, “The song by Britney Spears titled ‘Toxic’ comes to mind!” She continued, “I’m watching the show as everyone else watches it, but I came to this conclusion just on the strength of what Javen openly told me while living with him in the house. There’s an unhealthy lack of trust and obsession on both parts that’s just not good, honestly.”

With a little more dating experience under her belt, she added, “I think it goes beyond their not knowing anyone else romantically outside of each other, but truly having an unhealthy perspective on relationships with the opposite sex be it romantic, platonic, friendship…etc. A bit of the perfect storm, but still a destructive storm nonetheless. After watching Shari in the other house, it only confirms it.”

It was that dating experience — and a flair for spontaneity — that lead Jeffri to end up on the show herself. “I was doing the ‘say yes to everything challenge,'” she confessed. “The concept really didn’t seem that far-fetched to me, especially being unmarried. Sometimes you’re not sure if you’re really in love and dating can be one of many options to clarify that.” Though she was single when she applied, she shared that she would’ve done the show as part of a couple, too. “I have been in a relationship where I was at a crossroad and, while my dating perspective is a bit unorthodox, my boyfriend at the time would have never agreed to test the waters and revisit our relationship, and so it ended.”

That whole “unorthodox dating perspective” came in handy when talking to the guys — though the 31-year-old says the fact that they were technically in relationships wasn’t a problem for her. “The girlfriends were as relevant as they made them, which was not at all … [But] I wanted to get to know details about their relationship because, although they were under the impression I was tempting them, I was also fishing for details to know if they’re truly ‘boyfriend material’ or not. As much as they were ‘shopping’ us, I was shopping them too.”

As for whether or not she found love, well, that’s a definite yes — but she can’t confirm whether or not there was any romantic love involved. Instead, she confessed that she and some of the other girls got so close that they even ended up with matching tattoos. “We sunbathed and mimosa’d our lives away! Not a bad way to spend it… but even that can be overdone, believe it or not.” Instead, they spent a lot of time getting to know each other. “[We had] no phone, TV or social media so we had a lot of time talk about everything under the sun!” she shared. “When you’re in the house with each other 24 hours a day, you really do bond quickly.”

And the girls have plenty more shenanigans up their sleeves. But if you want to see the rest of their pranks and the wild ABC — Anything But Clothes — party that Jeffri decided to throw, you’ll have to keep tuning in.
