That was quick! Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her brother Joe Gorga are closing down their family restaurant, Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza, less than one year after it opened — and there might be some shady business practices behind the shutdown.

Teresa and Joe — along with Joe’s wife, Melissa Gorga — all took part in promoting the restaurant on social media, and the restaurant was opened in memory of Joe and Teresa’s mother, Antonia Gorga, following her death last March. But Joe was more heavily involved in the project, and sources revealed that he quickly got frustrated with his business partner.

“Joe is done with Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza,” one source told Us Weekly. “The actual owner of the restaurant and Joe worked out this deal where Joe would get money…if he lent his name and image to the restaurant. But the owner never made good on his end of the deal so Joe is done with the restaurant.”

However, James J. Leonard — who’s the Gorga/Giudice family lawyer — painted a different picture. He explained that Joe and Teresa plan to remain in the restaurant business and that they’re only closing their East Hanover, NJ, location because they simply outgrew the small space.

“They are in the process of closing down that location. They are looking for a bigger space, more conducive to the original vision that they had for the restaurant,” James told People magazine. “They are in the process of looking to secure new management to help basically execute that vision and make what their dreams were more of a reality. This particular space was small and just wasn’t really conducive to what they were looking to do.”
