‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Episode 7 Recap: Joan Vassos Enters Fantasy Suites With Remaining Guys

Live

Joan Vassos is down to the final guys in her journey to finding love on The Golden Bachelorette.

During episode 7, on Wednesday, October 30, the remaining contestants flew to Tahiti to meet their leading lady for romantic one-on-one dates. Joan said that she was “hopeful that [she was] going to find somebody to spend the rest of [her] life with.” Her friend Nancy from The Golden Bachelor surprised her in Tahiti and sat down for a candid chat about her journey on the show so far.

Joan Went on a Solo Date With Guy

Guy was first up for the solo dates this week. The pair spent time on a cruise ship before going snorkeling with stingrays and sharks. “What I wanted for this afternoon was that we would just start where we left off. Like yesterday was home towns,” Guy told Joan later at dinner. “I have to say, from my standpoint, it felt like that.”

Joan said that she “put a lot of thought” into fantasy suites and decided that she wanted to have time off-camera with each guy. However, she did not want to be physical with any of the men in the fantasy suites. For her, it’s something she wanted to save for the person she ends up with at the end. Guy praised Joan for the decision. “I respect Joan’s decision to make the fantasy suite to be about emotional intimacy,” he said in a confessional.

Joan and Chock’s Connection Grew on Their Date

Next up for the dates was Chock. Joan said that she had “strong feelings” for Chock. They took a fun ride on an ATV. “I could picture a life with him,” she said, as well as saying that he made her feel “safe.” Their smiles said it all during the activity!

“I want to spend the rest of my life with her, what a day!” Chock declared in a confessional.

At dinner, Chock told Joan that he was falling in love with her. She said that it had been a long time since somebody had said that to her. “Right now, I feel like I’m in a great place with Chock,” she said in a confessional. He told her that she was the best thing that has ever happened to him. The pair went to the fantasy suite to talk more. The next day, Chock would not tell producers what went down in the fantasy suite besides sitting on the couch and drinking champagne.

“It was everything I expected and more,” he said in a confessional.

Joan Had Confidence in Her Relationship With Pascal

Pascal was third to go on his one-on-one date with Joan. The pair enjoyed a Tahitian buffet and a spiritual ceremony. But Pascal said he was “confused” because it was not what he thought they would be doing for the date. “I wasn’t ready for that,” he admitted. “But I appreciated the thought behind it. … I’m not ready for that.”

During dinner, Pascal got candid about how he was feeling. Joan told Pascal that he reminded her a lot of her late husband. “Everything about your life you do in a big way and John did the same thing,” she told him.

Pascal said he was having a “really difficult time to let go” and got scared by how serious their date was.

“I just don’t think I can get to the place where you want me to be,” he told her. He said that he knows what love is and he cared about Joan as a friend but was not in love with her. “I just can’t be there and it’s hurting me because we have a good time together,” he explained, adding that the spark was missing. Joan held back tears during the conversation.

Who Went Home in Episode 7?

Pascal went home after confessing to Joan that he was “not ready” for love during their date. He said that he felt “terrible” about hurting Joan.

“The wall is up again and I feel like a failure,” Joan said after Pascal left. She broke down in tears as she headed back to her room. After Pascal’s dramatic exit, Guy and Chock are officially the final two guys vying for Joan’s heart this season.
