Tiffany Haddish Clarifies Viral Instagram Post That Lead to Rumors She Secretly Welcomed a Baby

Tiffany Haddish is opening up about the post that led to several headlines wondering if she secretly welcomed a baby.

On August 3, Haddish and her friend Jason Lee took to Instagram to share a couple of photos of themselves holding a baby together. Lee captioned the joint post, writing, “Cats out the bag.”

The post quickly went viral with many people assuming that Haddish secretly welcomed a child with Lee. While guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, Haddish cleared up the confusion, squashing the ongoing rumors.

“There is a personal matter I feel must be addressed,” Haddish said when giving her opening monologue. “Two weeks ago, I put something on the Instagram that made everyone go a little crazy.”

“Now it was a picture of me and my friend, Jason Lee, posing with the baby, and the caption, ‘Cats out the bag.’ Now, for some reason, people saw this and thought I had a baby,” Haddish joked.

“Like, there were articles about this everywhere. Even my own relatives was asking if I had a secret baby, which is kind of insulting, because they all are living in my house and blocking me from getting any…”

Haddish continued, making it clear that she did not have a baby. And instead went ahead and declared the baby her and Lee’s “God baby.”

Lee, who was in the audience during Haddish’s clarification, also revealed what he thought about “this whole baby fiasco.”

“I don’t know. The whole world has lost their mind over this beautiful baby,” Lee said who was surprised when Haddish announced that the child was now their God baby.

“This is the first time both of us being former foster kids that we’re actually selecting to choose a baby that wasn’t ours. But that’s why adoption is important,” Lee continued.

“Yeah, adoption is important,” Haddish continued, who then told Lee that her offer still stands if he did ever want to make “a real baby together.”

“You know, I’m traditional,” Haddish told Lee. “And I’m still gay,” he responded.

And although Haddish is not yet a mom, she said she is “open to” becoming a mom one day. “Wide open to it.”
