It looks like the Super Bowl halftime show has found another leading artist to join Maroon 5 on stage. Travis Scott has reportedly signed on to perform during the big game on Feb. 3, according to a new report. The “Sicko Mode” rapper has had a huge year climbing the Billboard charts, performing in front of thousands of fans during his Astroworld tour, and snatching two Grammy nominations. This seems like an obvious way to top off his success!

After it was announced that Maroon 5 would reportedly be performing at the 2019 show, fans were slightly disappointed by the choice to have the pop band headline. Since the game is taking place in Atlanta, people were hoping the artists chosen for the honor would reflect the diverse hip-hop and rap scene in the bustling city.

Even Bruno Mars chimed in and nudged the NFL to think carefully about the artist chosen. He tweeted, “You have the opportunity to celebrate incredible Hip Hop Artist from Atlanta Next year.” He even provided a few suggestions, “Outkast, T.I., Gucci, Lil Jon, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri, just to name a few,” the “24K Magic” singer added.

Although Travis is a Houston native, he does seem like a fresh choice to perform at the game. Given the fact that he’s had one of the most epic touring shows ever, complete with a roller coaster and ring of fire, Travis would definitely bring something new to the arena.

Cardi B was reportedly another top contender for the performance. She was apparently in the midst of negotiating a solo set in addition to making a cameo during the song “Girls Like You,” according to reports. While that would be equally amazing, it looks like Travis is our guy this year.

Kylie Jenner must be so proud of her boyfriend. Hopefully, the starlet will be right by his side for the big show!
