VCHA Rebrands as GIRLSET — Why Two Members Left and What’s Next for the Group

The global girl group formerly known as VCHA is officially turning the page. Based in Los Angeles and formed through the reality competition show A2K in 2023, the group has rebranded as GIRLSET.

Originally a six-member act under JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, the group experienced major shakeups over the past two years. Now, the remaining four members — Camila, Lexi, Kendall and Savanna — are back in the spotlight with a tightened lineup and a fresh single, “Little Miss,” which dropped on November 14, 2025.

So … what happened to VCHA, and what can fans expect from GIRLSET?

Who Are GIRLSET?

VCHA originally debuted with Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savanna, KG and Kaylee.

KG left in December 2024, and Kaylee exited in July 2025, leaving the four remaining girls to start anew. On August 7, 2025, JYP Entertainment officially confirmed the rebrand. The quartet released their single “Commas” before fully back into the spotlight with their single “Little Miss” on November 10.

What Happened to VCHA?

VCHA made waves as the very first global girl group trained under the K-pop trainee system, with members from the U.S. and Canada. Selected through A2K — which premiered on YouTube in July 2023 — the group dropped their pre-debut single “SeVit (NEW LIGHT)” in September 2023, followed by their official debut with “Girls of the Year” in January 2024.

Despite early success, VCHA went quiet online in June 2024, sparking fan concern. The group also canceled their scheduled Lollapalooza performance in July 2024, citing “unforeseen circumstances,” which fueled rumors of internal turmoil.

KG’s Lawsuit and Departure

Former member KG, whose real name is Kiera Grace Madder, publicly filed a lawsuit against JYP Entertainment in December 2024, citing mistreatment and a toxic work environment. “I have decided to terminate my contract with JYP Entertainment and exit VCHA after experiencing incidents of abuse and mistreatment by certain staff members. I feel it was not a good environment for my mental health and I apologize if my leave disappoints any of you,” she said.

She added, “I am not in support of the working and living conditions that led a member to attempt suicide. Nor do I support an environment that encourages eating disorders and has caused members to self harm.”

Kaylee left the group on July 12, 2025 through a mutual contract termination. KG’s lawsuit was settled on August 8, clearing the way for GIRLSET’s new chapter.
