Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Docuseries and Final Show Movie — Disney+ Release Date, Details, Updates

Taylor Swift has announced the end of an era — the final documentary series for her historic Eras Tour.

The superstar announced on Monday, October 13 that a brand-new docuseries and a full concert film capturing the last night of her record-breaking Eras Tour are headed to Disney+. Both projects will begin streaming December 12.

The six-episode docuseries, titled Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, offers an unprecedented look at the making of the tour that took over the world. The first two episodes will premiere alongside the concert film on Dec. 12, with new episodes dropping weekly after that.

“It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety,” Taylor wrote on Instagram.

The concert film, The Eras Tour | The Final Show, was filmed in Vancouver and showcases the entire Tortured Poets Department set, giving fans at home the chance to experience the once-in-a-lifetime finale. Directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions, the film promises to bring every dazzling moment to the screen.

Meanwhile, the docuseries takes viewers behind the curtain. Directed by Don Argott and co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce, the series will spotlight the tour’s development, cultural impact, and the massive effort it took to bring it all to life. According to Disney, it will offer “an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.”

The series will feature never-before-seen moments with performers, family members, and friends, including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch, giving fans fresh insight into the global phenomenon.

The announcement comes on the heels of another massive milestone for Taylor. Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, dropped on October 3 and shattered records. The album sold 2.7 million copies on release day alone, becoming the biggest opening week of her career and the largest for any album in the streaming era, according to Billboard.
