Adele ‘Can See a Future’ With Rumored Boyfriend and U.K. Rapper Skepta
New couple alert? Adele and U.K. rapper Skepta are rumored to be dating. News of the “Hello” singer’s budding romance comes on the heels of her split from husband Simon Konecki after over seven years together.
“She’s really into Skepta, and they have a lot in common, much more than she ever did with Simon,” an insider told In Touch magazine. “They’re both passionate about music and have the same dry sense of humor. They’re constantly cracking each other up.”
Up to this point, Adele and Skepta, 37, have had a strictly platonic relationship. However, the source noted that things started heating up recently. “They’ve been friends for years, and then it just developed into this romance,” the source expressed. “Adele is telling friends she can see a future with him.”
Thankfully, there’s no bad blood between Adele and her ex Simon, 45, that would prevent her from moving on. “Adele and her partner have separated,” her representative told Life & Style in April when the songstress had yet to file for divorce. “They are committed to raising their son, [Angelo], together lovingly. As always, they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
As it happens, Adele and Simon had a very low-key relationship and subsequently, marriage. In fact, the English songwriter rarely spoke about her love life, save for a few instances. “I have no desire to be with anyone in show business because we all have egos,” Adele told Vanity Fair in 2016. “He’s not threatened by any stage of my life that I’m going for, and that’s an amazing thing.”
Adele added, “Simon is already who he is. I’m still becoming who I’m going to be. He’s confident. He’s perfect.” Sigh. As sad as we are to see Adele’s marriage come to an end, it’s clear that she and Simon will be able to maintain a relationship as successful coparents.
