We Still Can’t Believe ‘DWTS’ Pro Cheryl Burke Is Marrying ’90s Heartthrob Matthew Lawrence
For those of you who didn’t have the fortune of being a ’90s baby, then you might not realize the importance of who Cheryl Burke is engaged to. However, for those of you who are ~actually~ cool, then you know that Matthew Lawrence was just about the biggest heartthrob of the decade. TBH, he’s still a babe… just sayin’.
Boy Meets World, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Brotherly Love are just a few of his more notable roles, and while he hasn’t been in the limelight as much these days, we’re happy to see that he found a soon-to-be wifey as amazing as Cheryl. The former actor popped the question to the Dancing with the Stars pro back in May, and Cheryl quickly took to Instagram afterward to show off her gorgeous ring and big expression!
Since then, the 34-year-old dancer has been posting adorable pictures of the pair left and right. From romantic beach getaways to eating pizza straight from the box, these two are definitely some serious #RelationshipGoals.
As for their wedding date? Well, nothing has been set in stone just yet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t eager! “We definitely want to get married as soon as possible,” Cheryl revealed to Us Weekly shortly after their engagement. “Originally we wanted to do a destination wedding, so we have different places we’re eyeing.”
Matthew added that the pair was considering a private island in the Philippines called Amanpulo. “We went with Cheryl’s family over the holidays and it’s just such a magical place,” the 38-year-old beamed. How sweet!
Things weren’t always this picture-perfect for the pair, though. In fact, Matt and Cheryl initially only dated from 2007 to 2008 before calling it quits. Fortunately, they found their way back to each other in early 2017. Phew! We can’t wait to see how gorgeous their wedding is. Oh, and not to get ahead of ourselves, but they’re going to make some beautiful babies.
Be sure to catch Cheryl on new episodes of Dancing with the Stars every Monday and Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
