Cici Bussey Is the Only Tie That the Kardashians Have to Their Late Father’s Family
Family means everything to the Kardashian/Jenners! Fans got to have an inside look into the family’s holiday traditions during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians special, “A Very Kardashian Holiday,” and viewers also got to meet a very special member of the Kardashian/Jenner extended family — Cici Bussey. But who is she to the Kardashians?
Cici is the first cousin of the late attorney Robert Kardashian Sr. — who is Kris Jenner‘s first ex-husband and the father of Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob — and Kim said that Cici is the only person from her father’s side of the family who they are still in contact with. She explained that during Kris and Robert Sr.’s nasty divorce in 1990 — which came after Robert found out that Kris was having an affair — her father’s side of the family cut off Kris and her kids, but Cici was the only one who maintained a close relationship with Kris because she wanted to have a relationship with Robert’s children. Kim said that since Cici kept in close contact with Kris and her kids over the years, it led her to be shunned by her own family.
But Cici’s sacrifice did not go unnoticed to Kris and the rest of the Kardashian family, which is why they were there for her during her time of need. Cici has battled cancer for the better part of two decades and her health took a scary turn for the worse back in June — and Kris even took to her official Instagram page to ask her 18 million followers to pray for Cici as she underwent a stem cell transplant.
“To all my amazing followers… this is one of my favorite pictures of our precious beautiful cousin Cici who we love and adore!!!!” Kris wrote. “Today I am asking that you all pray for her. She has been fighting cancer for two decades and is the strongest most amazing woman I know who every day goes to battle with a smile on her face and kind words for everyone she meets…. you can even hear the smile in her voice when I talk to her on the phone each day.. she is now facing the greatest challenge of her life…. A Stem Cell transplant…and I am asking you to pray for her that this procedure be successful and she makes a full recovery!!!!! Thank you all in advance for your prayers and support it means the world to us and our family…”
As of now, it seems like Cici’s transplant went well, and during the KUWTK holiday special, Cici’s husband said he was especially thankful for Cici’s health.
