Tommy Edman Is the MVP on and off the Field: Meet the MLB Superstar’s Wife Kristen
Tommy Edman may be the 2024 NLCS MVP of Major League Baseball, but he’s held that title at home for years. The professional athlete is a family guy when he’s not breaking records on the field, alongside the love and support of his wife, Kristen Edman.
When Did Tommy and Kristen Edman Get Engaged?
The pair were by each other’s side during major moments in the early stages of their adult lives. Kristen shared a photo via Instagram with the Dodgers superstar in June 2017, while celebrating his graduation from Stanford University.
One year later, Kristen announced via Instagram that Tommy popped the big question.
“I don’t know what to say except that WE ARE ENGAGED!!!” she captioned the December 2018 post. The special moment included their families, who were included in a large group photo moments after the proposal.
When Did Tommy and Kristen Edman Get Married?
Kristen is what you would call the opposite of a bridezilla. In June 2019, she cued the “ugly tears and uncontrollable tremors” after her wedding date was going to have possibly changed.
“Wow. I still feel like I’m dreaming. This past weekend has been a crazy one to say the least. Tommy called me Friday saying he has ‘bad news’ and that we might have to push our wedding date back because he got THE CALL up!” Kristen cheered via Instagram at the time. “Cue the ugly tears and uncontrollable tremors. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this. This is going to be one special journey with you and I can’t wait to see what the future holds! Congratulations my love, God is soooooooo good.”
That said, the pair was meant to walk down the aisle and they said “I Do” that November.
Do Tommy and Kristen Edman Have Kids?
The two announced they were welcoming their first child with sweet maternity photos inside the Cardinal’s dugout.
“Surprise! Baby Edman due in October. We can’t wait to meet you, thank you Jesus for this little blessing,” Kristen captioned the June 2023 post.
Kristen gave birth to their son, Eli Jack Edman, on October 17, 2023. The little one weighed 8 pounds and 4 ounces at birth.
Eli’s birth brought new beginnings to Tommy’s career, as the family patriarch graciously left the Cardinals and moved the family to Los Angeles to join the Dodgers. Tommy was crowned the 2024 NLCS MVP and will face off against the New York Yankees in the World Series.
Did Tommy Edman’s Wife Kristen Go to College?
The California native attended Concordia University Irvine between 2012 and 2014, according to her LinkedIn bio. Much like her homerun-hitting husband, Kristen played softball for the institution. She transferred to California State University San Marcos in 2015 and earned her bachelor’s degree in human development, family studies, and related services.
Kristen listed herself as a graduate student at California State University San Marcos in 2017, but has yet to add a date of completion on her LinkedIn.
What is Kristen Edman’s Job?
The MLB wife became a teacher at the Poway Unified School District in 2018, according to her LinkedIn. It’s unclear when she left that career, but she later became a real estate agent, which she currently has listed on her Instagram bio.
