Sydney Sterlace’s Journey on ‘The Voice’

Sydney has been on team Gwen since the very beginning. All four coaches turned their chairs for her blind audition performance of “Drivers License,” and she picked the No Doubt frontwoman as her coach.

In the battle rounds, Gwen picked Sydney as the winner over Sloane Simon after they performed “Birds of a Feather.” Although some of the other coaches said they would’ve picked Sloane as the winner of the battle because she had more experience, Gwen went with her gut and kept Sydney on her team. Sloane ended up being stolen by Michael Bublé to stay in the competition.

Sydney then went against Jan Dan in the knockouts and performed “Bruises,” with Gwen once again picking her to move on (Jan also advanced to the playoffs after being saved by Gwen).

In the playoffs, Sydney performed “Betty” and was chosen by Gwen to advance. She then earned a spot in the finale thanks to the public’s vote after her semifinals performance of “When the Party’s Over.”

“I am so grateful to be a part of such a supportive and encouraging show,” she wrote on Instagram after the December 3, 2024, episode. “The coaches, contestants and all of the staff are what make this experience the most amazing. Watch next Monday for the FINALS!!!” She also gushed, “WHAT IS MY LIFE. thank you thank you to everyone who voted for me. You will never know how much your vote means to me.”
