Taylor Swift Celebrates a Major Win After Her Day in Court
The verdict is in! Taylor Swift just won big in her countersuit against David Mueller — a radio DJ she accused of assault and battery after he allegedly groped her at a meet and greet back in 2013. According to CNN, a jury ruled in favor of the “Bad Blood” songstress, and David will have to pay $1 in damages. Her mother, Andrea Swift, and radio promotions director Frank Bell were also found “not liable for tortious interference.”
In a statement Taylor said, “”I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration,” she said, adding, “My attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process.”
She continued, “I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

Taylor, 27, was being sued by David Mueller, who claims he was wrongfully terminated from his job at a Colorado radio station after Taylor slandered him by claiming he groped her at a pre-concert event during her Red tour. According to David, he was fired due to pressure from Taylor’s security guard and her mother, Andrea. He asked for $3 million in damages and wanted his name cleared.
Taylor countersued the country show host for assault and battery— and sought an award of just $1 and for David to be held responsible and serve “as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts,” according to court documents.
The blonde beauty attended the proceedings earlier this week where she watched the first day of jury selection. Court papers revealed Taylor would testify about, “Mueller assaulting her by lifting her skirt and grabbing her bare bottom at her June 2, 2013, fan meet-and-greet, her reaction to Mueller’s conduct, and how it affected her.”
She also detailed the alleged incident in court documents. “He took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my a– cheek, and no matter how much I scooted over, it was still there,” the papers read according to USA Today. She also claimed to have no motive make up the story and did not pressure David’s employer to fire him.

The court does have one key piece of evidence in the case, a photo of Taylor with David at the event, but it has been sealed. While Taylor’s lawyers call it “damning,” the ex radio DJ claims it shows him jumping into the photo to join his girlfriend and nothing more. “I am sure that I did not,” David said of the allegations.
No cameras were allowed in the court room.
