Rihanna Trolls Fans Who Said She Didn’t Attend the 2019 Met Gala Because She Was ‘Playing With Makeup’
The 2019 Met Gala was missing a very important face — Rihanna. She’s become a staple of the prestigious event and fans were shooketh over the fact that she didn’t attend on May 6. However, she had a little fun with people who blamed Fenty Beauty as the reason she was a no-show.
“Rihanna at home playing with that f–kin makeup,” someone wrote on Twitter about the singer, 31, not appearing at the “Camp” themed event. The style icon put that ~Rude Boy~ in their place by posting the tweet with a picture of seven lipsticks sitting on her counter. She hilariously added a crying and shrugging emoji.
The “Work” artist’s cosmetic company jumped in on the joke by writing, “And???” in response to the tweet. Lesson learned: Do not question the queen because she will clap back in the most epic way.

It was surprising Rihanna skipped the whole party but the “Umbrella” songstress previously posted on May 3 that she was in the United Kingdom to launch her partnership with beauty retailer Boots. Don’t worry, there’s obviously no saltiness about missing because the Barbados native posted a photo of Anna Wintour on Instagram with the caption, “Best dressed.”
Fans couldn’t quite get over that RiRi wasn’t there. “Word on the street my FAVORITE isn’t going … please say it ain’t so,” one person begged on Insta. “PULL UP WEARING YOUR NEW ALBUM. I’m tired,” another person quipped. A separate user wrote, “Sis there’s few things we count on your for. Face beat, music and your Met look … why are you starving the children???”
Although it was disappointing that Rihanna was absent (especially since she always slays so hard on the red carpet), it’s amazing to see how dedicated she is to her various brands and products.
Her lingerie line officially turned one this month and the songstress is proud of her baby. “This month marks the one year anniversary of [Savage x Fenty],” she gushed on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who has supported and embraced our brand and our message! To all my savages, I love you and I love the movement we have made together! So much more to come!”
