Amber Rose Defends Her Decision to Dye Her 4-Year-Old Son’s Hair Bleach Blonde
Blonde ambition! Amber Rose took to Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 11, to show off four-yer-old son Sebastian’s newly lightened locks. The 34-year-old model said that she treated her child — whom she shares with ex-husband Wiz Khalifa — to the dye job for his upcoming fifth birthday.
In her post, Amber preemptively silenced online trolls who might not agree with her decision to let Sebastian bleach his hair. "Lol he begged me for a whole year to dye his hair blonde like mine so we started with a little patch and I told him when he turns 5 I will make him a full blonde like his mommy. He will be 5 on the 21st of February!" the proud mom wrote alongside a super smiley pic of her son. "He’s so happy and none of you dirty little trolls can take that away from him or me!"
She concluded her message by urging other parents to encourage their children to express their individuality: "P.S Love your children unconditionally and let them be creative this world will be a better place."
Though some of Amber’s followers threw shade at Sebastian’s platinum ‘do — "He’s too young to be dyeing his hair!" exclaimed one angry fan — she seemed to receive more love than anything else. "YASSSS KWEEN! Love that you let your kid be his most authentic self!" one enthusiastic Rose Bud commented, while another wrote, "Wow this is f–king dope. Mom goals AF!!"
It makes sense that Amber would want Sebastian to live out his flaxen-haired fantasy. During an August 2016 interview with People, the Amber Rose SlutWalk founder opened up about the joy of motherhood — and said that she tries to do everything in her power to make sure that her little boy is always happy.
"I literally almost shed a tear every single time when he hugs me really tight and he says, 'Oh, Mommy, I love you so much,'" she said at the time. "I want him to do any and every thing that makes him smile and be happy forever."
