During Shannon O'Hara's American Idol audition, judge Katy Perry told her "You're going to give people a run for their money!" Well, she was telling the truth. The Charlotte native recently made it into the Top 24 after performing a soulful rendition of Katy's "Unconditionally." The pop-star called Shannon a "super spiritual ninja" after crying during her performance.

"TOP 24 BABY!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!" Shannon shared with fans on Instagram. "I can't even believe it. Thank you Jesus for this opportunity. HERE I COME!!"

After her impressive performance, fans began praising Shannon's raw talent on social media. "You're amazing girl! My favorite contestant from all the seasons! Keep reaching for your dreams, your going to go far," one fan wrote. Another added, "Omg I just saw that performance and I have chills everywhere and I'm tearing up cause that was so good. I can't wait to see more of what do!!"

Even, Idol host Ryan Seacrest tweeted out his support of the singer. "1) @shannonohara sang a judge's song 2) she made it her own 3) she made @katyperry tear up 4) now she's top 24. Amazing #americanidol," he shared. It's clear that the teenager will provide stiff competition to her fellow contestants during the singing competition. "I can feel myself growing as an artist and I don't want that to end," she admitted suring a previous episode.

Judge Lionel Richie also saw her potential during her heartfelt audition singing Adele's "When We Were Young." "The music business is an interesting business in terms of your audience," he explained. "American Idol… we're talking about masses of people. It's going to be interesting with that voice and the song selection, and your passion — you can be a major threat. Because I think what I was looking for was some conviction. A little bit of realism and that was it. Because looking at you I kept thinking, 'Okay, what is she going to deliver? Where is it coming from?' And you gave it to me."

Another fan wrote, "She's a dark horse. Watch out. She’s so good." That she is.
