Love Is Blind season 8 stars Ben Mezzenga and Monica Danús sparked some speculation regarding a potential romance brewing between the two after they were spotted in several social media posts together. Now, fans are asking if Ben and Monica are dating.
Are Love Is Blind’s Ben and Monica Dating?
Ben opened up about his and Monica’s relationship status on an April 15, 2025, episode of the “Girl Please” podcast and said that they were not dating.
“As things happen, people have friendships out of these shows, and usually you want to keep the big group together as much as possible, but people tend to kind of gravitate to other people, and so I’d like to say Monica is probably one of my closest friends from the cast,” Ben said.
Love Is Blind’s Ben Says He and Monica Aren’t ‘Intentionally Trolling’
After the Love Is Blind season 8 reunion, rumors swirled that Joey Leveille and Sara Carton, Ben and Monica’s exes from the show, were dating. Monica had broken up with Joey at the altar during the finale, and Sara ended things with Ben.
The “Girl Please” podcast hosts asked if Ben and Monica were trolling fans because of the whispers that Joey and Sara had gotten together, but he said that wasn’t the case.
“We’re not intentionally trolling, just having fun making content together and just letting the world take it as they want,” Ben explained.
However, the Minnesota real estate agent didn’t completely rule out a possible relationship with Monica in the future.
“Monica has been such a great friend through this whole thing, and obviously there is chemistry there with her and I,” Ben shared. “I’m not ruling anything out. It’s something where I know she’s a great person … But obviously, we have just grown this friendship so solidly I don’t know if I see it going anywhere further, at least in the near future. It’s one of those things where it would have to run its course for a while before it would come back being romantic, but for right now we’re just enjoying each other’s company.”
Love Is Blind’s Monica Previously Claimed Her and Ben’s Exes Were Dating
Speculation about Joey and Sara being in a relationship began shortly after the season 8 reunion aired.
“Someone very close to the situation confirmed they’re a couple and have been for a while,” Rikki Wise, cohost of the “Reality Receipts” podcast, claimed in a March 11, 2025, TikTok video. “They’re waiting for everything to die down to announce it.”
In March 2025, Sara denied the rumors during an appearance on Nick Viall’s “The Viall Files” podcast and said that she and Joey were “definitely not dating,” but they “definitely have a friendship.”
However, despite Sara’s denial, Monica claimed that the oncology nurse actually confirmed their romance to her in a phone call.
“I texted Sara, ‘I’m hearing a lot of things about you and Joey. Is there anything you need to tell me?’” Monica told Elite Daily in an interview published on March 18, 2025. “And she called me and said, ‘Nothing’s official, but we are seeing each other.’”
She concluded, “She told me this started a month ago, so that’s at least two months ago now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was longer. All this time when I was venting to her about Joey and she was saying she had my back, she was actually with him. It’s no surprise from Joey — I don’t think very highly of him, and I don’t want him in my life. But I’m hurt that Sara would do this to me.”
