Inside Tana Mongeau and Alissa Violet’s Complicated Friendship: Jake Paul, Cheating Rumors and More!
First and foremost, Tana Mongeau and Alissa Violet are definitely friends. That said, their relationship is a bit, er, more complicated than the average duo. As a result, we decided to break down the various elements that may lead people to believe Tana and Alissa don’t like each other.

Tana, Alissa and Jake Paul
Generally speaking, “Girl Code” suggests that you don’t date your friend’s ex, right? Right. But in the world of influencers, the lines get a little blurry. For starters, Alissa, 23, and Jake Paul, 22, didn’t exactly have a conventional relationship. In fact, to this day, it’s not clear whether or not they actually had a romantic relationship at all.
Per Shane Dawson’s “The Mind of Jake Paul” series, Alissa and Jake had conflicting stories about what went down between them. One thing they could agree on, though, is that things ended badly. Basically Alissa hooked up with Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, giving the former Disney Channel star ample opportunity to blame the demise of their “relationship” on her.
Alissa, on the other hand, claimed that Jake had been getting with multiple other girls the entire time they were “together” and that everything was just for show. As mentioned, this wasn’t your average boyfriend-girlfriend situation and thusly, Tana hooking up with Jake isn’t necessarily a betrayal.
In the end, Alissa made it clear that she was better off without him and didn’t seem to mind if he moved on. Plus, in between Tana, Jake dated Erika Costell. So, #Jalissa was ancient history by the time #Jana started.
Tana, Alissa and Faze Banks
When Alissa and Faze Banks were still together, cheating rumors surfaced that he hooked up with Tana. To add fuel to the fire, Alissa unfollowed Faze, whose real name is Ricky Banks, that very same week. Thankfully, when the pair made up, they took to Twitter to clear the air. “Wow, this really hot girl just followed me,” Ricky, 27, started. “LMAO. You guys are insane. Terrible timing for a fight. Guys, fights happen. This had zero to do with the podcast or Tana. You guys are crazy.”
Alissa then replied to Ricky’s tweet, writing, “I love Tana and I knew about everything when we first started dating two years. Literally terrible timing.” To summarize: Yes, Tana and Ricky hooked up. No, it wasn’t when he and Alissa were together.
Side note: Jake and Ricky previously had long-standing beef which caused a lot of people to think Tana and Alissa were at odds. Let’s be real, though, who hasn’t Jake had beef with in the YouTuber community? If Tana wasn’t cool with everyone who disliked her man, she’d have no friends.
Tana is on Team Alissa!
Months after Alissa and Faze called it quits, the Ohio native accused her ex of cheating on her in a very intense Twitter thread. Even though Faze replied with a lengthy apology/explanation, Tana is clearly on Team Alissa. “The first pic is me on Twitter last night,” Tana captioned a cute picture of herself and Alissa, to which she replied, “WTF am I doing, though?”
