Are we living or are we L-I-V-I-N-G? Ariana Grande released a teaser for her much anticipated “thank u, next” music video, and it has definitely surpassed our expectations. The singer started dropping hints about the epic video one week ago and, according to her clues, it will feature inspiration from some serious Rom-Com classics: Mean Girls, 13 Going On 30, Bring It On, and Legally Blonde. The trailer Ari posted is a spoof of Mean Girls and it’s pretty spot on.

The video even features Jonathan Bennett, who actually played Aaron Samuels, and Stefanie Drummond, who saw Cady Heron wear army pants and flip-flops so she bought army pants and flip-flops. There are a lot of other friends and famous faces from Ari’s inner circle in the music video, including Troye Sivan. Fans are definitely excited. One person commented, “My wig is ready to be snatched,” while another person gushed, “So grateful to be alive at the same time as Ariana Grande.” Honestly, same.

In the video, the characters talk about Ariana the same way people spoke about Regina George in the original movie. Ari’s costume in the music video (that we’ve seen in photos) is also Regina-esque, except Ari’s shirt says “A Little Bit Needy” instead of “A Little Bit Dramatic.” Nice touch. We can only hope she makes her music video entrance being carried like a goddess on a football field, just like Regina in the movie.

Honestly, can the video just be released, like, now? The biggest twist we’ll have to wait and see will be the ending — will these stories end with love and the girl getting the guy? A source told Life & Style magazine, “Ariana realized that she doesn’t need a man in her life to complicate matters.” The source added, “She’d rather focus on her career without any added distractions.” So, maybe the end of the music video will be Ari feeling like a boss babe and riding into the sunset with her friends. Do you, girl.
