‘Modern Family’ Star Ariel Winter Shuts Down Body-Shamers: ‘I Didn’t Get Plastic Surgery’
On January 28, Modern Family actress Ariel Winter was simply trying to enjoy her 21st birthday in peace (with some Dominos pizza), when all of a sudden one very pesky body-shamer tried to bring her down. Well, for those of you who don’t know, Miss Winter does not mess around when it comes to that kind of, er, BS. So she clapped back like the boss lady she is … and it was epic! “Nothing wrong with being honest and telling her we liked her better before ‘the change.’ She was so beautiful before she started chopping up her body, and if me saying so helps one girl out there to feel beautiful who’s thinking of [plastic surgery], it’s worth it,” one user commented. Sigh. Gotta love the internet, right?
Damn, girl! You tell ‘em. We’re so happy to see that Ariel has continued to defend herself in the face of such unnecessary hate — especially consider the A-lister has struggled quite a bit with her body image in the past. That said, after focusing more on her health and fitness, she’s feeling better than ever. “Ariel’s self-esteem is also at an all-time high. She’s looking amazing and dressing less provocative and it’s paying off. She says it was a phase she was going through,” an insider recently told Life & Style.
