Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s Son Bronx Stands Tall Over His Mom in 16th Birthday Photo
Ashlee Simpson shared a touching tribute to her eldest child, son Bronx Wentz, for his 16th birthday. Alongside a handful of pictures from the teen’s childhood, the “Pieces of Me” shared a recent photo with Bronx, who towered over her in height.
In the first photo of the Instagram post, Bonx stood tall and wrapped his arm around Ashlee, 40, who rested her head on his shoulder. Not to mention, the mom of three wore platform boots in the snapshot.
“Being your mom has been the greatest joy of my life. You are my rock my soul. My ride or die. You have been the greatest blessing in life that I could have ever dreamed of. I would not be me without you. Thank you for choosing me to be a mom, and YOUR mom,” Ashlee began the Wednesday, November 20, caption. “You are so calm, consistent, brilliant, loving, kind hearted, thoughtful, funny, mysterious and incredibly awesome. I thank God every day that I get to be your mom. You are a true gift to this universe and I’m so lucky you are my very grown, and cool baby… happy 16th birthday. I love you. Also you were born to this song. Thank you for making me the luckiest.”
Ashlee’s friends, family and Instagram followers wished Bronx a very happy birthday in the comments section, most of whom couldn’t believe how big the teen has grown.
“Can you believe you have a human being this age and height time is flying,” one person commented.
A second fan wrote, “Owow hes grown up! & is very tall.”
Meanwhile, others couldn’t help but share their shock over Bronx looking like a spitting image of his dad, Pete Wentz.
“He legit is @petewentz ‘s doppelganger,” a third fan commented, while a fourth person wrote, “Happy Birthday! Wow you are your dad’s twin!”
Ashlee and Pete, 45, welcomed Bronx six months after they tied the knot in 2008. They separated three years later. The “Boyfriend” singer later married husband Evan Ross, whom she shares Jagger and Ziggy with.
Evan, 36, has openly cherished his relationship with his stepson, Bronx, and opened up about how their dynamic evolved over the years.
“He’s my friend, we became like homies, we’re good buddies,” the ATL actor said during a 2015 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show. “It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how incredible that child is — he’s unbelievable! He’s been a blessing in my life, and I’ve learned so much from him.”
In 2018, Ashlee told Us Weekly how “wonderful” her coparenting relationship with Pete was and gushed over his girlfriend, Meagan Camper. Evan agreed, telling the outlet, “It could go all different ways. I think the fact that there is a lot of respect amongst all of us. That makes it easier. And we’re all really close friends. It’s easy, we got really lucky with that.”
As if it wasn’t totally obvious, Ashlee is a cool mom – and all three of her kids agree.
“[Bronx] definitely hangs out here with his friends and everyone. So, I feel like I have the cool house,” Ashlee told People at the time. “And he goes out a bit, but not all the time. He likes to come home. He likes to hang out with me. Thank god.”
