‘Bachelor’ Alums Say Viral TikTok Isn’t About Jason Tartick After Causing Confusion With Fans

Kaity Biggar and several other Bachelor alums caused a stir after a viral TikTok video led fans to question if they were seemingly throwing shade as Jason Tartick.

Zach Shallcross‘ fiancée and final rose recipient, 30, and other contestants from season 27 of The Bachelor starred in the video that Kaity captioned, “Jason always doing creepy things,” although she didn’t include a last name.

Gabi Elnicki kicked off the video by lip-syncing, “Pause, Jason just liked my selfie?” Kylee Russell then appeared on screen and mouthed, “What a creep.”

Former Bachelorette Charity Lawson appeared next, mouthing the question, “Is that guy sleeping over there?” Kaity popped up next, responding, “Yeah, the one next to the girl with no shoes on?” while Jess Girod lip-synched, “That’s so rachet.”

Mercedes Northup and Ariel Frenkel also appeared in the video along with Litia Garr, who is currently competing in Grant Ellis‘ season 29 of The Bachelor.

“So confused. Do people hate Jason Tartick,” one fan asked in the comments. Kaity was quick to jump to the former Bachelorette contestant’s defense, responding, “No no!!! Love him he’s the best!!! This is a trending audio.”

Even with Kaity professing how much she adores Jason, 36, another fan told her, “Actually, that’s just so disrespectful to Jason, not a funny joke.” The Canada native replied, “This is not about Jason T!” while repeating that it was trending audio and saying of her girl crew, “We love him!”

Jason competed for Becca Kufrin‘s heart on season 14 of The Bachelorette. While he was eliminated in week 9, the banker went on to gain a bigger place in Bachelor Nation. He started dating former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe in 2019 after appearing on her “Off the Vine” podcast.

The couple got engaged in 2021 but called off their relationship in August 2023, announcing their split in a joint Instagram statement.

“After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement,” Kaitlyn, 38, and Jason wrote on August 6, 2023. “We are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate.”

“Nothing bad happened. It’s just been over time. We have both not made each other a priority. And this is what happens,” Kaitlyn later told listeners about the breakup on the August 15, 2023, episode of her podcast.

Not all of Kaity’s followers were thinking about Jason in her TikTok post. Several fans commented on how Zach, 28, had such an amazing group of ladies to choose from. The women are still friends and are currently on a group vacation in Montana together, as they’ve been sharing photos and videos via Instagram.

Charity, 29, shared a video of the ladies line dancing in the snow in bikinis with fur coats on to stay warm. She joked about how some of her pals weren’t in synch to Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us,” writing in the caption, “The ones off beat said they were cold – highly doubt it.”

“I’m loving Zach’s girlies. Best cast ever,” one gushed about Kaity’s video, while another person added, “There will never be a cast as good as this one again I fear.”

Zach proposed to Kaity on his season finale that aired in March 2023 and the pair are still together. The duo lives in Austin, Texas, along with their pooch, Honey, who they adopted in September 2024.
