"What's the winner going to do with her time this summer while Nick is filming BIP?" he asked his followers on the social media platform, seemingly implying that Nick, 36, would be searching for love again on reality television.

Catherine also agreed with her husband, tweeting, "This is so real it's kinda depressing," during the After the Final Rose special.

However, they were not the only Bachelor Nation stars to think Nick and Vanessa were lacking chemistry on-screen.

"I am always hopeful for happy endings, especially when it comes to my #bachelornation family, but @VanessaGrimaldi doesn't seem happy," first Bachelorette Trista Sutter wrote while former Bachelor in Paradise star Jade Roper added, "The vibe of the whole room at After the Final Rose right now is so serious and strange feeling. No?"

Nick promptly responded to the criticism and defended his relationship with Vanessa, 29.

"I hope we came across as in love and passionate tonight. The reality is — we joke about it, but it’s true — we don’t know what it’s like to go to the movies together, we don’t know what it’s like to spend time together in the real world," he told People. "She’s very much looking forward for this to be over. It was very difficult for us as a couple at the end."
