Straight out of Compton! VH1 is set to premiere the newest installment of its hit reality TV franchise, Black Ink Crew: Compton. The series is set to follow tattooist, artist and musician Danny Kirkpatrick, a.k.a. “KP” or “IAM Compton,” as he gears up for the grand opening of Compton’s first tattoo shop and art space, Ink Art Music Collective. In Life & Style‘s exclusive sneak peek, KP introduces viewers to himself, his family and his new shop crew.

“The most beautiful thing about Compton is that people are looking or positivity but you don’t know what you’re gonna get. I been in shootouts, riots, you got Bloods, Crips, the Eses. It’s kill or be killed. People in the community need a place to get away from the gangs, the guns and the violence and I want to create that space for my city,” KP says in the super trailer.

KP is also a father to two adorable daughters with his partner, Disney Channel alum Kyla Pratt. The former Proud Family star will also star on Black Ink Crew: Compton alongside KP’s shop crew. Lemeír, Nessie and Ink Drippin’ work for KP as tattoo artists while Vudu Dahl is the shop’s apprentice. KP’s cousin Tim works for him as the shop manager and Barbie is the shop’s receptionist.
