Bradley Cooper Previously Said Having a Family Was A ‘Miracle’ Before His Split From Irina Shayk
How things change! Months before news broke that Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk called it quits after four years together, the actor, 44, mentioned that he was living his ideal family life, which he seemed so appreciative of.
“I guess having a child, and having a family of my own — which is a miracle and something I’ve always dreamt of — has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present,” he told NPR’s Morning Edition in September 2018 during press tour for A Star Is Born.
On June 6, a source confirmed to Life & Style that the couple was no longer an item. Prior to that, another source told In Touch that they were “on the verge of splitting for months.”
According to the insiders, the two have “tried to make it work for the sake of their daughter,” but the reality is that they “both have busy lives and careers, which has made the process very long and drawn out.” It also seems that their lack of closeness was to blame for the current status of the relationship. A source also said the model and the American Sniper alum “never had a strong foundation to begin with,” and have “very little in common.”
Regardless of the situation, they’re making sure their two-year-old daughter is their main priority. “Lea is the best thing that’s ever happened to Bradley, so he doesn’t have any regrets,” another source told In Touch. “He’ll always care about Irina, but it’s reached the point where neither of them wants to continue sacrificing their happiness to stay stuck in a bad relationship.”
Bradley and Irina’s relationship was nice while it lasted. They began dating in early 2015, after they both called it quits with their exes. Bradley was dating model Suki Waterhouse for two years, and Irina was with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo for five years. Hopefully, they can move past this and find love again!
