Take it from D.J. — being your best self all year round is just a better move. Fuller House star Candace Cameron-Bure revealed exclusively to Life & Style that she’s less about that New Year’s resolution life because she’s more about making her would-be resolutions her way of life.

“I don’t make New Year’s resolutions!” the 43-year-old exclusively revealed. “I’m always trying to be the best I can be and stay healthy and stay fit and make the best choices throughout the year.”

Plus, she revealed she’s just like us when it comes to sticking to her New Year’s promises. “I feel like if I make a resolution, it just gets checked off as, like, a fail in my life because we never keep them,” she said. “So, I don’t make them, and again, I give myself grace when I mess up but just try to be the best I can be all year long.” And that’s the tea right there.

That being said, the blonde beauty raved about her fitness life — and it’s clear the practice is really beneficial for her. “I love working out and I do all kinds of things. Kira Stokes is my trainer. She lives in New York, I live in L.A. so we don’t see each other in person very often,” she explained. “And I think bodyweight [training] is really cool, too, because you don’t realize — even if you just go to do push-ups or pull-ups.”

“I mean, it’s difficult for a lot of us to even move our bodies on its own. So, doing a lot of plyometrics and simple things that seem like super old school, like jumping jacks and push-ups,” the actress said. “Trust me, if you can do ’em and do a lot of them, they’ll change your body and I love doing those the most.”

She’s not only working out her bod — she’s also been working out her creative muscles this year. “The first thing that jumps into my mind is directing, because even though I’ve directed several,” she gushed. “It wasn’t new to 2019 but it still feels new. And the more I’m doing it, the more I love. That’s been the highlight of 2019.”
