Surprise! ‘Bachelor’ Alum Danielle Maltby and Former ‘Big Brother’ Star Paul Calafiore Are Dating
It looks like former Bachelor contestant Danielle Maltby has finally gotten her happily ever after! The 31-year-old — who competed for Nick Viall‘s heart on Season 21 of the hit ABC show
— took to Instagram on Monday, Jan. 29 to reveal she’s dating Big Brother alum Paul Calafiore. And he did the same!
“Melting,” Danielle captioned two polaroid snaps of the pair kissing in Nashville, TN. Paul shared the same pic and added, “Wedding season.”
Almost immediately, her co-stars chimed in with sweet well-wishes for the duo. “Yes yes yes let the world know. So happy for you and your happiness,” Kristina Schulman wrote. Wells Adams — who fans were once hoping would date! — reacted, “This makes me very happy!!!!”
When Danielle made her reality television debut earlier this year she was very open about her past relationship and revealed that her [former fiancé, Nick Haag]https://www.lifeandstylemag.com/posts/danielle-maltby-fiance-139290), passed away six years ago. On the first one-on-one date of her season, the blonde beauty told Nick about her traumatic experience. “I was engaged and five and a half years ago he passed away,” she said at the time. “He overdosed on drugs and I found him. I didn’t know he was an addict so it was a complete shock.”
Nick died at the age of 29 just three months after proposing, and according to his obituary, he was a “very talented musician.” “He moved to Nashville in 2005 to play guitar with the Wayne Mills Band until 2008 and then joined Chasin’ Mason until fall of 2010, at which time he and friend ‘JJ’ began playing acoustic shows under the name of ‘Barkeep’ and had plans for the future by going back to Nashville to perform,” it read. Ironically enough, both Danielle’s fiancé and Nick V. grew up in the same town of Waukesha, WI.
