Not so long ago, people were calling for Dean Unglert to be the next Bachelor. Interestingly, it seems his indecisiveness on Bachelor in Paradise had the same affect on his popularity as Colton Underwood‘s did. However, Colton was still offered the job of starring in the next season of The Bachelor, and Dean thinks that was a big mistake.

“I’m here to say one thing and one thing only. Colton for Bachelor? Not my Bachelor,” he told Entertainment Tonight on Friday, September 21. “He’s a little young. He’s younger than me. He might be more advanced in his life than I am, but I don’t necessarily see him marrying the woman that he chooses for a plethora of reasons.”

One of these things is not like the others

“One, I don’t think he knows exactly what he wants. Two, I don’t think he knows exactly what he wants. I think he’ll do what he thinks people will want him to do and not what’s necessarily right for him,” the notorious Bachelor Nation star explained of his reasoning. Interestingly, much the same could have been said about Dean when he was stuck in a love triangle between Kristina Schulman and Danielle Lombard on BIP. He’s since apologized and realized he handled the situation badly.

“I would have preferred” Becca Kufrin’s runner up, Blake Horstmann, or second runner up, Jason Tartick, Dean continued. “I love Colton, don’t get me wrong, but not my Bachelor.”

Dean is far from the first member of Bach Nation to air his grevances about the casting choice. Corinne Olympios revealed she found Colton to be insincere, and former Bachelors Nick Viall and Ben Higgins think the show will “eat him alive.”

Still, Dean will be tuning in. “It’s going to be a dumpster fire, of course I’m going to watch it,” he teased. “I imagine Colton’s season going the same way mine would, where he wants to do right by everyone and he wants no one to hate him and that’s going to just go ahead and bite him right in the butt. He’s a very nice person. He’s well-intentioned. He is beautiful. I just think it’s going to be a dumpster fire.” With a glowing review like that, how could you not watch?
