Demi Lovato Appears Happy And Healthy In The First Picture Following Her Near-Fatal Overdose

She’s so strong! Demi Lovato has been spotted for the first time following her near-fatal drug overdose in July — and she’s looking happier and healthier than ever. The “Sober” singer has maintained her social media silence since releasing a statement on Aug. 5., but now, fans can rest easy knowing she’s out and about working on her rehabilitation.

The candid snapshot shows a smiling Demi accompanying a friend on a casual walk. The 26-year-old is holding a cup of coffee while rocking a pair of black skinny jeans, an olive green jacket, and a black baseball cap. We have to say, y’all: She looks fantastic.

“Demi has lost some weight and she’s feeling better,” a source revealed to Us Weekly. “She’s repositioning herself again and getting her life back on track and retraining herself on the 12 steps to recovery. She is doing much better and eventually, she will come back to LA.” It’s such a relief that Demi is putting her sobriety first.

Besides checking into an undisclosed rehab facility, the pop star sought additional treatment in Chicago, where she reportedly met with a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and sobriety several times. “Demi’s cutting out all the negativity from her life,” an insider told Life & Style. “She’s even put the Hollywood Hills home where she overdosed up for sale because the thought of going back there sends shivers down her spine.”

According to Brandon Johnson, a man who’s claimed he supplied Demi with drugs, the pair freebased oxycodone the night of her tragic overdose. “Demi still has a long way to go on her road to recovery, but she’s looking forward to this new chapter,” the insider added. “Thanks to all the love and support she’s received, Demi no longer feels alone.” We’re all rooting for you, Demi!
