OMG. There’s a new teaser trailer for the next installment of American Crime Story, the anthology series from American Horror Story and Feud creator Ryan Murphy, which is set to air on FX. The Assassination of Gianni Versace will recreate the 1997 murder of Donatella Versace’s brother Gianni Versace, who was shot on the steps of his Miami Beach home. It follows the widespread success of The People v. O.J. Simpson, which aired last year.

Oscar-winning actress, Penelope Cruz, stars as Gianni’s sister Donatella, with a new promo shot for the series showing her wearing a black mourning veil over the designer’s trademark platinum blonde hair. Edgar Ramirez will play Versace himself, and will be joined by Glee’s Darren Criss as killer Andrew Cunanan and Ricky Martin as Versace’s partner Antonio D’Amico.
“I am thrilled that another season of American Crime Story is coming… Ryan Murphy and his team created something truly special with The People v. O.J. Simpson, winning a much merited BAFTA amongst a host of other awards,” network controller Patrick Holland said. “With British writer Tom Rob Smith, one of the most exciting talents in television drama, across Season 2, The Assassination of Gianni Versace promises to be captivating viewing.”
Earlier shots from the series debuted in Entertainment Weekly, and showed Penelope photographed in the famed Miami mansion, channelling Donatella in a fuchsia pink dress and blonde wig.
