On week four of The Bachelorette, early favorite Garrett Yrigoyen dropped a bombshell on Becca Kufrin — and revealed he was once married! Gasp. The 29-year-old medical sales rep detailed on his one-on-one date in Utah how he filed for divorce just six months after tying the knot with his ex-wife Kayla Cunningham and accused her of being emotional abusive, among other things. Well, a friend of his former spouse revealed that there is two sides to every story.
According to the source, it was Garrett who walked out on the marriage, leaving behind a blindsided and devastated Kayla. Soon after the wedding, the friend told Life & Style exclusively, Garrett started acting cold and disrespectful toward Kayla and her family. Then, one day, "he packed up all his crap."
"A week later, he said he wanted half of everything," the friend explained. After a lengthy court battle, "she had to give him some money," said the friend, who hopes Becca, 28, is careful.

"I want Becca to know the truth about Garrett. He's a nice guy at first, but she needs to watch out," the insider added. "Why did he marry her and have her family spend thousands of dollars on the wedding, and then all of a sudden say, 'I just can't do this anymore?' Her family felt like she had been scammed." Eagle-eyed redditors did some digging and discovered that the couple did tie the knot on Sept. 19, 2015, thanks to a since-deleted The Knot registry, and finalized their divorce in March 2016.
This is just the latest controversy surrounding the first impression rose winner. Earlier in the season, Garrett was caught liking offensive and racist posts on social media — for which he offered an apology. "To those who I have hurt and offended: This is all new to me," he wrote on a new Instagram page. "I went on the Bachelorette for the adventure and possibility of falling in love, not fame. I did not know what to expect once the show aired. I am sorry to those who I offended, and I also take full responsibility for my 'likes' on Instagram that were hurtful and offensive." He went on to explain that he chose to delete the old account and "start fresh."
Becca also seemingly forgave Garrett, telling Entertainment Tonight, "I want viewers to be open to everyone, and I want them to go through this season with me and watch my love story unfold with all these men... because that's how I went into this journey. I can't fault anyone for what they believe and who's to say that anyone is truly what they believe in if they just double tap."
Is it just us, or did Becca get the worst cast of guys in Bachelorette history? From Garrett to floor-pooper and sexual offender Lincoln to the IRL Zoolander known as Jordan, we wouldn't be surprised if Becca did the damn thing — and sent everyone home without a rose. Oh, and did we mention Leo dabbled in soft-core porn? Do better, producers.
