Bradley Cooper Is ‘Commitment-Shy,’ Friends Say – But Gigi Hadid Could ‘Change His Mind’ About Marriage
She opened up like never before. In an interview with Vogue published on March 11, Gigi Hadid broke her silence about her “very romantic and happy” romance with Bradley Cooper. The pair, who have been dating since October 2023, met at a kids’ birthday party and share a passion for theater, she revealed. “I think just getting to the point where knowing what you want and deserve in a relationship is essential,” she told the magazine, “and then to find someone that is in a place in their life where they know what they want and deserve … and you both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be. I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word.”
Soon, she might have a new word to describe their relationship.
“Their friends hope it’s only a matter of time before they take the next step and get engaged,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style, adding that “they’ve gotten to know each other on a whole new level in the past few months, so it’s almost been like a trial marriage.” And while the actor has long been “commitment-shy,” adds the source, “his friends say that if anyone’s going to change his mind about marriage, it’s Gigi.”
Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper’s Family Unit
By all accounts, they’re a perfect match. Bradley, who shares daughter Lea, 8, with ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, and Gigi, who’s raising daughter Khai, 4, with her ex Zayn Malik “are both doting parents who are incredibly private about their home life,” says the source, noting that they both own homes in the same rural area of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and spend a lot of time there together. “They have the same hands-on parenting style, and they like do things with their daughters, who get along well. They’re already like a blended family.”

Their loved ones are rooting for them to make it official, says the source. Despite the age difference — he’s 50; she’s 29 — “Gigi’s parents see him as the perfect son-in-law, especially after all the drama with Zayn,” the source says of Gigi’s previous six-year, on-off relationship. “Bradley’s calm and he treats her really well.”
But the next step is a big one. The actor’s four-month marriage to actress Jennifer Esposito failed in 2007 — and he hasn’t come close to tying the knot since. “He’s made it clear he isn’t big on labels, and Gigi would never want to rock the boat by pressuring him,” says the source.
“Still, there’s a strong feeling among his friends that his attitude toward marriage has started to soften. Gigi is everything he’s looking for in a life partner, and the last thing he wants is to risk losing her.”
And if he does pop the question? “She’d say yes in a heartbeat!” says the source. “It’s very clear they’re truly in love and they’re both in it for the long haul.”
