Kelly Clarkson ‘Looks Good’ and No Longer ‘Emaciated and Frail-Looking’ Post 40-Pound Weight Loss

Kelly Clarkson has been slimming down for the better of two years, but she’s finally filling out a bit now and relaxing her routine, which has pals breathing sighs of relief after her drastic weight loss, a source exclusively tells Life & Style.

The “Stronger” singer, 42, debuted a dramatic new body after dropping 40 pounds, prompting some fans to speculate the American Idol winner had taken to Ozempic to shed the excess. But Kelly denied the rumors, telling Whoopi Goldberg during the May 13 episode of her show, “My doctor chased me for, like, two years and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems.’ I was afraid.”

“Everyone thinks it’s Ozempic. It’s not. It’s something else. But it’s something that aids in breaking down the sugar. Obviously, my body doesn’t do it right,” she added.

The pop singer revealed that she was able to slim down after reading Dr. Steven R. Gundry’s book, The Plant Paradox, which completely changed the way she looked at what she was eating. “It’s basically about how we cook our food, non-GMO, no pesticides, eating really organic,” she told Extra, adding that it wasn’t her looks that motivated her to make the difference in her diet, but her health.

“I literally read this book, and I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had, and I had a thyroid issue, and now all my levels are back up. I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book,” the “Catch My Breath” singer explained.

With her well-being her top priority, the source notes her recent, heavier, yet healthier, look is a good thing, saying, “She was so emaciated and frail-looking before.” But in the months since, “Kelly’s actually put a little weight back on and it looks good on her. She’s lost that ‘I’m so hungry right now’ expression and her eyes are brighter, her smile more genuine.”

“Now, she’s the perfect, normal size. She’s enjoying her meals and has a healthy glow about her,” the insider adds.

Kelly had joked with Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush on her Emmy-winning talk show that she went through “many stages” of being “chubby,” while growing up, an insecurity that was compounded by the way many reacted to her Idol win in 2002 and sudden rise to stardom.

“People were like really mean to us because we were from a talent show,” she revealed. “Like everyone was so rude to us, like on the red carpet, at the show. It was so bad. It was a horrible experience!”

A second source, who previously talked to Life & Style, agreed that Kelly “doesn’t have that gaunt look anymore.”

“She’s regained some weight, so she wants to rethink her makeup too,” explained that insider. “She’s eager to experiment with eyeliners and makeup shades and lip color to bring out her features.”

The first source notes that, “Obviously, there’s always going to be that danger of going back the other way and she needs to regulate things, but everyone seems to be in agreement that Kelly hasn’t looked better.”
