When it comes to Disney Channel child stars who have gone on to become bona fide A-listers, few have done it better than Hilary Duff. Believe or not, the longtime actress has been steadily working in Hollywood since — wait for it — 1997!

While most people were first introduced to Hilary on the hit series Lizzie McGuire, there is a lot (and we mean A LOT) more to her career than that. For starters, her first credited role was actually a direct-to-video film called Casper Meets Wendy. Yes, as in The Friendly Ghost.

2001

Following Casper, Hilary went on to land a few smaller TV roles including parts on Chicago Hope and The Soul Collector.

As we all know, Hilary’s life would change forever come 2001 — a.k.a. the year she became thee Lizzie McGuire.

2003

The beloved Disney Channel series lasted for a total of four seasons (65 episodes) and ultimately, catapulted Hilary’s career.

People still love Lizzie McGuire so much that Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, announced the show is making a comeback! That’s right, Hilary will be returning to the role that made her famous come 2020.

OK, back to more career highlights! While Hilary was still playing Lizzie, she continued to snag other roles. Let’s just go ahead and rattle them off, shall we? Agent Cody Banks, Cadet Kelly and Cheaper by the Dozen were all filmed during Hilary’s stint on the Disney Channel.

Of course, we can’t forget to mention The Lizzie McGuire that led to Hilary’s brief, albeit substantial singing career. “So Yesterday,” “Why Not,” and “Come Clean,” are still featured in some of our playlists … no shame.

Hilary’s next notable role was in 2004, when she played Sam in A Cinderella Story alongside Chad Michael Murray. *Pauses to swoon.* She also starred in Raise Your Voice that year.

Ultimately, Hilary’s career stayed on a steady course throughout the mid-2000s with movies like Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and TV roles on George Lopez, Law and Order: SVU and The Chase.

In 2009, she landed the part of Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl. While Hilary’s character only lasted six episodes, she did have a threesome with Dan Humphrey (played by Penn Badgley) and Vanessa Abrahams (played by Jessica Szohr) … which, at the time, was pretty risky for the CW.

After Gossip Girl, Hilary’s continued to work on shows like Two and a Half Men and Raising Hope.

In 2011, however, something major happened! Hilary announced her first pregnancy with now-ex Mike Comrie.

Hilary gave birth to her son, Luca Cruz, in 2012 and quickly became one of the coolest young moms in Hollywood.

After Luca was born, Hilary seemingly focused her attention on motherhood. However, in 2015, she landed yet another major TV series — ahem, Younger.

Hilary plays the role of Kelsey Peters and as it stands, Younger has been on TV Land for a whopping six seasons — making it the network’s longest-lasting series ever.

In July, Viacom confirmed that Younger was picked up for a seventh season that will be airing in 2020.

Needless to say, it doesn’t look as though Hilary’s career is slowing down anytime soon — in fact, just the opposite! If anything, she’s busier than ever.

Now that we’ve covered all of the career milestones, it’s time to talk about her personal life again. In 2017, Hilary began dating singer-songwriter Matthew Koma. On June 8, 2018, the pair took to social media to announce that they were expecting their first child together. Fast forward nine months later, and their beautiful daughter, Banks Violet, was born.

Since then, Hilary is killing both the parenting and career game. Plus, she looks fantastic! Just 10 months after giving birth, Hilary lost all of her pregnancy weight. Good for you, mama. We can’t wait to see what the rest of 2019 (and beyond!) has in store for Hilary.
