Emotional ‘I Am Jazz’ Season 5 Trailer Will Get You So Excited For The New Season
Season 5, here we come! I Am Jazz is returning to TLC in just a few weeks and the trailer has viewers gearing up for an emotional ride. We’ve been following Jazz Jennings’ journey since she was just 15 years old. Now, in the upcoming season, the 18-year-old is sharing some of the most intimate parts of her life, including, her gender confirmation surgery, prom, her love life, and more.
One of the biggest storylines of the season will take fans behind-the-scenes of Jazz’s surgery. Although she underwent the procedure back in June, the show will cover her family’s reactions and the emotional journey leading up to it. Post surgery, the reality starlet is doing “great,” according to a selfie she shared on Instagram after the procedure.
Before undergoing the procedure, Jazz told fans on YouTube, “I am so looking forward to it. I’ve been ready for this my entire life.” Instead of shying away, the star wants to empower people with information. “I feel like education is super important and if I put out this information for people to see, they won’t have to ask any more questions,” she said in a video about the surgery. “A lot of parents who have transgender kids are like, ‘What do I do? I don’t know much about this process.’ And seeing our show kind of helps them figure out what steps they can take to help their kids, and what the journey might look like in the future — that’s why I talk about the surgery.”
We’re glad Jazz is feeling good after the surgery, but there’s a lot of other exciting things on the horizon for the teen. “There’s a boy in the picture now,” she gushes in the trailer about a new possible new romance. Jazz is also seen with a group of friends all dressed up for prom.
Overall, it looks like she had a pretty great year! I Am Jazz premieres on Jan. 1 at 10 p.m. on TLC.
