Inside Margot Robbie’s 1st Days as a Mom to Newborn Son: ‘More Emotional Than She Ever Imagined’

He’s here! Margot Robbie and husband Tom Ackerley have reportedly welcomed a son. The proud new parents were photographed on November 6 taking their newborn baby for a stroll on the streets of Los Angeles.

“Margot’s first days as a mom were more emotional than she ever imagined,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “She and Tom couldn’t stop holding their little boy, kissing his tiny face, fingers and toes. He’s just perfect.”

Rumors began swirling that the Barbie star, 34, had given birth after her movie producer hubby, 34, was spotted picking up diapers, cigars and a bottle of wine near the couple’s Venice Beach home on October 30. “Tom’s excited about being a hands-on dad,” says the source. “He’s read the parenting books, baby-proofed the house and become a total pro at diaper duty, which Margot really appreciates.”

Family and friends have sent well-wishes, the source continues, including Barbie director Greta Gerwig and costar Ryan Gosling, who both reached out to congratulate the actress on her bundle of joy. “It’s a happy time for the new family of three,” says the source. “Margot and Tom are soaking up every single precious moment.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress first revealed she was going to be a mom when she showed off her growing baby bump in July while on vacation in Lake Como, Italy.

“Having kids is something Margot and Tom have talked about and wanted,” a source exclusively told Life & Style at the time. “But they waited eight years to start a family because she had a lot of things she wanted to accomplish first.”

Following the news, Margot and her husband continued the celebration by taking a babymoon with pals Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, and Benedict Cumberbatch on a yacht off the coast of Palmarola in late August for “some romantic couples’ time.”

“They went sightseeing and shopping and ate at some wonderful cafes,” another insider dished on September 11. “Margot is so excited to become a mother. She and Tom always knew that they wanted to have a family, and the baby is all they can talk about.”

Margot and Tom first crossed paths in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française, where she played a leading role and he served as an assistant director. The pair married three years later in a private ceremony in Australia’s Byron Bay.

Although the couple keeps their romance out of the spotlight, the director shared some rare insight about how they balance their personal and professional lives in a June interview.

“[We spend] 24 hours a day [together],” he told The Sunday Times. “It’s seamless. We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”

Tom joked that the only thing the pair ever argues over is “whether Tim Tams or Penguins are better” — referring to snacks from their respective home countries of England and Australia. He added that he “feels like an honorary Aussie, Margot feels like an honorary Brit.”
