Inside Rihanna and ASAP Rocky’s Wedding Talks After Court Win: ‘A Ceremony in Barbados Is the Plan’
On February 27, Rihanna, beau A$AP Rocky and their two sons returned to L.A. — via private jet, of course! — after a trip to the Caribbean. The luxe vacation served as a dual celebration for RiRi’s 37th birthday on February 20, and Rocky’s February 18 acquittal of two felony assault charges stemming from a 2021 altercation with a former friend.
“I cannot express how relieved I am, especially for our family,” the “No Limit” rapper, 36, told DailyMail.com. “Rihanna and I can get back to our lives and our kids without this trial hanging over our heads like it has been for the last three years.”
Now, Life & Style can exclusively reveal a wedding is on the pair’s to-do list! “Rihanna and Rocky are on cloud nine following the not guilty verdict and they’re eager to commemorate the happy news with a wedding, sooner rather than later,” says an insider. “At the moment, a ceremony in Barbados is the plan. They’ve talked about August, but that would mean things would need to move quickly, so it will likely be towards the end of the year.”
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky Want to Make It Official
No matter what date they decide on, their nuptials are set to be an epic affair.
“Rihanna wants a three-day event, if not longer, in order for them to really celebrate and also make it worthwhile for guests to fly out,” details the insider, adding that the couple’s children — RZA, 2, and Riot, 19 months — will have starring roles in the wedding party.
“Between Rihanna and Rocky, they have a ton of famous pals, so there will definitely be an A-list element, but it’s not going to be some big Hollywood shindig. The majority of guests will be their family and lifelong friends,” the source adds.
Though the “Umbrella” singer — who began dating Rocky in 2020 after nearly a decade of friendship — intends to be involved in every detail, says the insider, she’s working with a local wedding planner: “Having a team on-site to coordinate makes it a million times easier.”
Rihanna already has her hands full with a billion-dollar fashion and beauty business, plus her music career and acting gigs. But when it comes to the mogul’s personal life, she’s happy to add to the chaos. In fact, the insider claims that RiRi and Rocky are “actively trying for another baby” right now.
“They’re insisting a pregnancy wouldn’t get in the way of their wedding,” shares the insider. “Rihanna has absolutely no qualms about walking down the aisle with a bump. She always feels so sexy when she’s pregnant!”
