Is Dierks Bentley Married? Meet the Country Singer’s Childhood Sweetheart and Wife Cassidy Black
Dierks Bentley has seen his star rise over the last two decades in the country music biz, but the Arizona native hasn’t let all his success get to his head. Playing sold out shows more than 20 years after his debut album, he’s released his 10th studio album, Gravel & Gold, to rave reviews.
Still, the down-to-earth “Somewhere on a Beach” singer says he spends most of his free time trying to keep his household together with wife Cassidy Black amid the chaos of their three kids and two dogs.
“It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of laundry, a lot of dishes, a lot of picking up dog poop, but it’s real life and I thrive on that a lot,” the country superstar said of his home life back in Nashville.
How Did Dierks Bentley and Cassidy Black Meet?
The romance between Dierks and Cassidy is something of a country-music fairytale. Basically childhood sweethearts, they could never make it work early on, but found each other again later in life.
“We met in eighth grade, back in Arizona. It’s a pretty crazy story of just going back and forth with the right time or the wrong time, or right place, wrong time, all that stuff,” the “Drunk on a Plane” singer told The Boot in March 2016. “Finally, I was playing a show in Las Vegas, and opening for George Strait, and she walked on the bus. I kind of knew that that was the moment.”
Before their serendipitous reunion, they dated on and off in high school and, while Dierks’ passion knew no bounds for his future wife, Cassidy told People in April 2007 she thought the boy was “just trouble.”
“I had a crush on her the whole time, but I wasn’t cool enough. I was way too immature and into drinking beer and guns and blowing things up,” Dierks said in the same interview.
“I used to write her all these crazy love letters that I’d FedExed out to her,” he added.
The couple married on December 14, 2005, in a ceremony in Mexico.
Do Dierks Bentley and Cassidy Black Have Children?
The Bentley’s have three children: daughters Evalyn Day, born in 2008, and Jordan Catherine, born in 2010, as well as their youngest, son Knox, born in 2013.
The country star has said that while on tour, “you get on the bus, and you turn into a 13-year-old again. You play video games and tell the same jokes over and over again with the guys.” But at home, he settles into a more domestic routine, tending to their children, along with their two dogs, who they often walk in the mornings to a local café.
What Does Cassidy Black Do?
Cassidy is co-owner of a hair salon called The Dry House near where the couple live in Nashville.
She also supports her husband during events whenever she can, often appearing alongside him on red carpets and at awards shows.
“I feel like it all starts at home with my wife,” Dierks told Billboard in January 2018. “She is who grounds me, she is also the one who has helped me to grow as a person over all these years.”
