When it comes to leading ladies in Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence most definitely tops our list of favorites. We mean, come on, in addition to being a kickass actress, she’s also absolutely hilarious IRL — *insert photo of her drinking wine at the Oscars, here.* That said, the A-list powerhouse has changed quite a bit since first breaking onto the scene in the early 2000s. OK, so, believe it or not, J. Law started in the entertainment business well before The Hunger Games … shocking, we know! In fact, Jennifer’s first official role was on the television series Monk in 2006.

2008

Shortly after that, she went on to land a few smaller parts — including roles on Cold Case and Medium.

2009

It wasn’t until 2010 that Jennifer truly landed a part worthy of her talent — a.k.a Ree in Winter’s Bone.

J. Law was *so* freakin’ impressive in that film, that she went on to be nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama category. Oh, and did we mention that she was just 20 years old at the time?

After Winter’s Bone, her career skyrocketed. So much so, that in 2011, she played Mystique — the blue naked one — in X-Men: First Class.

In 2012, however, Jennifer’s career changed forever! Why? Well, because she landed the role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.

Of course, The Hunger Games isn’t your typical part. It’s a franchise like Twilight or Harry Potter, meaning J. Law pretty much became an icon. Sure, she wasn’t *actually* Katniss, but that didn’t make her any less of a role model to young fans everywhere.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiered in 2013, followed by Mockingjay: Part 1 in 2014 and Mockingjay: Part 2 in 2015. Unsurprisingly, that was the year that J. Law was named the highest paid actress in Hollywood.

As much as we love, love, love Jennifer as Katniss, it’s important to recognize all of her other career highlights. So, let’s go ahead and do that, shall we?

Her part as Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook landed her both an Academy Award and Golden Globe. Plus, she starred alongside Bradley Cooper and the two became fast friends. TBH, we always secretly hoped they would date. Now that Jennifer is engaged to Cooke Maroney, we’ve given up on that, obviously.

Speaking of Bradley, though, Jennifer also killed in as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in American Hustle and she won yet another Golden Globe.

J. Law’s other notable films include Joy, Mother! and Red Sparrow. As far as 2019, she has only appeared as Mystique in Dark Phoenix.

That said, according to IMDb, Jennifer has two upcoming roles on the horizon in films called Mob Girl and Bad Blood. Needless to say, we can’t wait!
