Jessica Alba and Cash Warren Said ‘Divorce Was Never an Option’ Before Split
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren never considered getting a divorce before they ultimately parted ways, an insider exclusively tells Life & Style.
“Jessica and Cash have had their ups and downs over the years, but they always said that divorce was never an option,” the source tells Life & Style. “Well, that’s all changed.”
The insider adds, “After a lot of heartfelt and tearful conversations, and marriage counseling, they’ve decided to split up.”
News of Jessica, 43, and Cash’s split was revealed on Wednesday, January 8, when sources told TMZ that they recently separated and were planning to file for divorce in the near future.
Neither Jessica nor Cash, 45, has publicly responded to the reports. However, they both hinted that there was trouble in paradise before the rumors began to circulate. On January 4, Jessica attended a pre-Golden Globes party in West Hollywood without Cash. Additionally, she continued to fuel split rumors by ditching her wedding band for the outing.
Meanwhile, Cash was also seen without his wedding band during an outing in Los Angeles just one week before reports of their split circulated.
The former couple first met on set of Fantastic Four in 2004. Jessica starred in the film as Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, while Cash worked as a director’s assistant.
Four years after their first meeting, the pair got married in May 2008 and they welcomed their eldest daughter, Honor, the following month. Jessica and Cash later welcomed their second daughter, Haven, in August 2011, followed by their son, Hayes, in December 2017.
Jessica previously hinted at some of the troubles in their marriage when she appeared on an April 2024 episode of Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s “BDA Baby” podcast. “It’s all rosy for 2 ½ years, but then after that, you become roommates,” she said with a laugh at the time. “And it’s just, like, you’re roommates. You’re just going through the motions. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes.”

After noting that she and Cash tried to schedule regular date nights without their phones so that they could “just talk,” the Good Luck Chuck actress said the dates weren’t “consistent.”
“I would say that being able to communicate when you’re unhappy and nipping it right away instead of letting it sort of, like, fester, and then you have, like, animosity and it explodes,” Jessica added.
Despite admitting that they didn’t have as many intimate dates as they would have liked, Jessica insisted that they were putting in to work to make their marriage last.
“We’re on 17 years. He basically stole my 20s and my 30s,” she continued. “So, we have the friendship and the comfort of, like, ‘You’re not going anywhere,’ and so, sometimes, you don’t treat those people the best. You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings.”
“Life’s a life journey,” the Honey actress said. “I think if you’re both, every day, deciding to do it, it’s going to work out regardless of the drama, regardless if anything happens, if you’re both like, ‘I want this. I want to figure this out,’ nothing can really break that.”
